Providing education to children is responsibility of ministry of education. The primary education is free and compulsory for six years. Children begin schooling at the age of six. Ecuador also has given emphasis on women education and education of disadvantaged people and ethnic groups. The government is making continuous efforts to adapt curriculum suitable for Ecuador’s cultural diversity. Though high population and limited funds are over burdening the government. Secondary education varies from seriously overcrowded public institutions to elite private institutions emphasizing bilingualism in English, French, or German.
The education system in Ecuador has improved in the past and strengthening further. Due to this the literacy rate and number of trained professionals is rising. Today many trained professionals are actively involved in working with industry, which has strengthened both the industry and economy.
